The Travancore Evening Brown, (Parantirrhoea marshalli) is a rare butterfly endemic to the Western Ghats, inhabiting in reed thickets,jungles and dense evergreen undergrowths. Once thought to be extinct, it was rediscovered in Periyar in 1992. The lone representative of the only genus in India, its nearest relative is in America. | ![]() |
